Moving Primary Release Management to Modrinth

Published on June 6, 2026

RulesPlugin's primary distribution and release-management platform is now Modrinth. This change will make it easier to publish, organize, and support separate builds for different Minecraft versions.

Why This Is Changing

RulesPlugin now supports multiple Minecraft version families, including separate builds for 1.21.x and 26.1.x. Keeping every build, supported version, update, and compatibility note clearly organized on SpigotMC has become increasingly difficult.

Modrinth provides clearer version management and allows every release to specify exactly which Minecraft versions and server platforms it supports. This reduces confusion and makes it easier to download the correct JAR.

What Happens to SpigotMC?

  • The currently available SpigotMC releases will remain available for download.
  • Critical fixes for the existing Minecraft 1.21.x release may still be published on SpigotMC when necessary.
  • New Minecraft version support and future main releases will be published through Modrinth.
  • The SpigotMC page will continue pointing users toward the latest supported downloads and documentation.

What Server Owners Should Do

For the latest RulesPlugin updates, new features, compatibility information, and full version support, use the official Modrinth project page.

Always check the Minecraft version listed on the release before downloading. Separate JARs may be provided for different Minecraft version families.
